FIRST AND SECOND PRIZE WINNERS OF THE PRESTIGIOUS SERRA ESSAY CONTEST

Two of our eighth graders, Brianna Balli and Ryder Merten were awarded First and Second Prize for the Annual Serra Essay Contest.
 
As the adjudicators wrote: 'The Serra Essay contest is meant to be an intellectual challenge.  Your eight grade St. Mary’s students certainly met that challenge which is a reflection of the quality of education they are receiving at St Mary’s School as well as fulfilling their desire to excel academically.’  
 
We offer our congratulations to Brianna and Ryder.  Well done!

MAYOR OF EL CENTRO FOR THE DAY

Marcos Ruiz from St. Mary’s School got the ultimate look into the life of El Centro Mayor Alex Cardenas recently.

SAN DIEGO ACADEMIC DECATHLON 2018

St Mary’s School participated in the 22nd Annual Decathlon of the Diocese of San Diego at Mater Dei High School on 3rd March.  St Mary’s did well in all of the competitions, which included logic, grammar, science and other subjects.  Our highest placed student was Isabella Gonzalez (8th Grade) who was placed 3rd in the diocese in the Religion sector.   She is pictured here with Rev. Dr. Allan White O.P. the Rector of St Mary’s School, who was also her Decathlon Coach.  Congratulations Isabella we are very proud of you!

2018 SERRA CLUB ESSAY CONTEST WINNER!

Congratulations to our eighth grade student Daniela Ye for bringing honor to St Mary’s School by being chosen to feature amongst the top 10 students in the Serra Club Essay contest.  Daniela is pictured with the other winners and with her parents, grandparents, and sister Nicole, who was also amongst the top 10 prize winners when she was in the eighth grade at St Mary’s. Congratulations to Daniela and to the Ye Family.
